Mental Health Awareness Poem

This year, our drama students showcased their creativity by writing poems to raise awareness about mental health. The Ash group (Wednesday/Thursday) were our winners, and their powerful poem was made into an A1 display copy now featured in the hall.

The standard of entries was incredibly high, with many thoughtful and imaginative pieces submitted. A special thanks to Oak group for kindly wearing the themed T-shirts for our photo shoot. Well done to everyone involved!

Ice Bucket Challenge

As part of our HT5 awards ceremony, we took some time to focus on mental health awareness—an important and meaningful theme for all. We ended on a surprise highlight… the Ice Bucket Challenge!

Students voted for who they wanted to take on the social media sensation. Or so they thought… Our very own Lesley Crooks, Teacher, may have rigged the vote just a little to make sure that Thomas Liney, Assistant Head of School, was the "chosen one."

But in a twist of fate, Tom returned the favour—nominating Lesley on the spot! So, two brave (and soon to be very soggy) staff members took the plunge.

It was a fantastic, feel-good end to the assembly—full of laughter, lifted spirits, and lots of cheering. And most importantly… two very cold and very wet staff!

More fun to come!
