KS3 & 4 Education Centre
From September 2018 our Carisbrooke Specialist Learning Centre will be referred to as our KS3 & 4 Education Centre. It will continue to provide a range of part time and full time provision for students who are deemed to be at risk of exclusion from mainstream education. The provision options are as follows:
KS 3: 1 DP Programme
Description of Provision:
This is a one day provision designed to engage young people already accessing 2DP or requiring small group vocational provision, including, Cooking, Horticulture, Crafts, Sports and Music.
Referral:
- A PSP Level 2b meeting.
- Submission of an Information Passport.
KS 3: 2 DP Programme
Description of Provision:
Students attend for 2 days per week and are able to access a range of educational programmes, including Literacy, Numeracy, General Studies, ICT, Art & Design, Cooking, Sports and Personal & Social Education.
Referral:
- A PSP Level 2b meeting.
- Submission of an Information Passport.
KS 3: 5 DP Programme
Description of Provision:
Students attend for 5 days per week and are able to access the full range of programmes provided by the Centre.
Referral:
- A PSP Level 3 meeting.
- Submission of an Information Passport.
KS 3: EHCP Group Programmes
Description of Provision:
Students typically attend for 5 days per week while they undergo a period of assessment. Some students access this provision on a part time basis.
Referral:
• Via a PSP Level 3 or Annual Review Meeting
• Submission of an Information Passport
KS 3 & 4 : RAVE Group Programme
Students attend for 5 days per week for an extended period of time while they undergo preparation for alternative provision.
Referral:
- Via PSP or Annual Review meeting.
KS 3 & 4: Careers Guidance & Preparation Programme
Selected students attend workshops, visits and interviews delivered & organised by our LEBC Careers Education Advisor [Jo Winterborne] & our Connexions Careers Education Advisor [Olivia Hunte].

KS 3 & 4: Vocational Placement & Taster Programme
Description of Provision:
Students who access the Service’s KS3 & 4 Education Centre, if suitable, may also be able to access a range of off-site vocational placements.

KS 3 & 4: Functional Skills Study Programme
Students access functional skills courses and qualifications in Mathematics, English Language & ICT. Students who access this programme are also able to access our PSD & Employability courses, where they are able to achieve additional qualifications.
KS 3 & 4: GCSE Study Programme
Students access GCSE courses and qualifications in Mathematics & English Language. Students who access this programme are also able to access our BTEC Science, PSD & Employability courses, where they are able to achieve additional qualifications.
